I am a highly specialist Speech and Language Therapist with over 20 years’ experience in the areas of aphasia, traumatic brain injury and Augmentative & Alternative Communication (AAC) .
I worked in the NHS for 16 years in a supra-regional assessment centre, stroke rehabilitation services and brain injury rehabilitation units.
I have been running South West Speech Therapy for 6 years, providing bespoke therapy to individuals. I have also been commissioned to provide services in residential brain injury rehabilitation units, residential colleges for students with physical and learning difficulties and to self-help community groups.
I am on the committee of the Computers in Therapy Clinical Excellence Network and was instrumental in the design of the www.citcentoolkit.org designed for healthcare professionals and which was a finalist for the 2018 Chief Allied Health Professions Officer award.
I am also the Consultant Speech & Language Therapist who helped develop and continues to support the maintenance of: www.aphasiasoftwarefinder.org which was a finalist for the 2013 Technology for Good Award.
I am regularly asked to run training courses and workshops and present at national conferences on the topic of providing technology based therapy to people with aphasia following stroke or brain injury.
